Chapter 3: UNIX Tips for HP Users

MPE is a proprietary operating system written by the Hewlett-Packard Company. It runs only on computers manufactured by HP. UNIX is an "open system" that is available on many platforms. Although there are two main flavors of UNIX and many slightly different versions, it is true that a program can be written to run on any UNIX.
