Changes in Qedit for Windows 5.0.11

This page lists the bug fixes and enhancements made since version 5.0.10.

• If you have the 5.1.10 server, you can take advantage of the new Set Text Exclusive feature. To enable it, enter Set Text Exclusive On in one of the Qeditmgr files that you are normally using. Once enabled, regular files are kept open while you are editing them. This prevents other Qedit users who also have Set Text Exclusive enabled from accessing these files. Other users will be able to open them but will not be able to save their changes. For a full discussion, see the appropriate Qedit Reference Manual.

• The network message receive queue has been increased. This should allow larger host directory listings.

• When working in Overwrite mode, the cursor changes to a blinking rectangle or block. It used to be an underscore. Open options on the Directory and Open Host File dialog boxes now have associated mnemonics. ALT+Y toggles the Read only option while ALT+E toggles the Open a copy option.

• The Directory dialog box now offers the Force unnumbered open option (ALT+U).

• Qedit correctly adjusts tab stops when switching between host files.

• Setting tab stops at regular intervals on a Cobol source file works properly. Some values caused Qedit to abort while others put tab stops at incorrect locations.

• Cobol tags are updated correctly on Paste operations.

• Qedit does not abort anymore when pasting a line at the beginning of a file.

• When pasting many lines into an empty host file, Qedit does not miss the last 2 lines.

• Pasting with the last line of a file selected does not cause incorrect text to be updated in the host file, even though the client view looked correct.
