Every day or two, we post on our home page news/links that we think will be of interest. These news items are automatically archived, but are also edited into our customer newsletter every other month. For each product (Qedit, Suprtool, Qedit for Windows), our web site contains information about the current production release, as well as the current pre-release that users are testing, and our internal test version that we are working on. |

Changes in Previous Versions
The following enhancements have been implemented in Qedit for HP-UX only.
The following enhancements have been implemented in the Qedit for Windows server.
In-Development for Qedit
We are researching the addition of a Set Variable command to
Qedit/UX. This would allow you to set environment variables within
Qedit and check them again later in Qedit; remember that executing
a shell command will not accomplish this, since the shell cannot change
the environment variables of the parent (Qedit).
Qedit Pre-Release Versions
The current pre-release version of Qedit is version 5.7.11.
Qedit 5.7.11
Production Version of Qedit
Qedit Version 5.7
The following enhancements have been implemented in Qedit for MPE and
Qedit for HP-UX.
$ qedit > qedit.out
Qedit now resets the tab stops when running in interactive mode only. Redirection is assumed to be batch mode.
Qedit for HP-UX Visual Mode Issue (5.4/5.5)
We had a problem with Qedit Visual Mode when editing Cobol files. The problem only occurs on HP-UX 11.x or when you force Block mode emulation with Set vis Blockemulation On. After you have marked a block of text to move or copy, (with a cc or mm) and then attempt to paste in on another page, you will receive an error:
NO UPD: bad format in left 4 columns (see qscreen)We have patches and updates for Qedit/UX version 5.4 and version 5.5.
!HPDATEF, !HPACCOUNT on MPE. On HP-UX,
variable names are prefixed with a dollar sign as in $HOME.
.pco as valid Cobol extension.

We are researching the creation of a completely new Open/Save dialog
box that would give the same look and feel to host files as to PC files.

you need Qedit Server 5.7 or
